To be honest I was going to write similar tutorial but Johnson pass ahead of me =) Anyway It’s a great and very useful skill which can be used not only for 3d text creation, but for any 3d object.

    hey there

    i love your 3d text… i tried recreating the effect myself, but am having problems with step 4a: Select the Floral layer and Ctrl+left click on the Surface layer to load its selection. Click on Layer Mask button.

    i have done this a million times and the floral brush wont go into the text, it just lies over it… should i use the pasting into option

    please help… i would love to master this effect. its so wicked!
